This apprenticeship will lead to a career as a carpenter. Carpenters carry out skilled work, primarily using timber products on a construction site or in a workshop, creating and installing building components. A Site Carpenter will normally work on a building site, or in domestic and commercial premises, preparing and fixing building components, from the initial erection of a new building, through to the installation of all necessary fixtures and fittings, as well as a range of repair and maintenance activities.

    Qualification

    • Level 2 Diploma in Wood
    • Occupations – Site
    • Carpentry Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) ‘Skilled Worker’ standard, which is widely accepted in the sector as a ‘licence to operate’ in a skilled construction trade.
  • Entry Requirements

    Maths and English GCSE Grades 9 - 2 or Functional Skills Entry Level 3 or initial assessment results at Entry Level 3. Individuals requiring additional support are required to participate in an intensive week programme; otherwise, they are mandated to attend weekly sessions.

    27 Months

  • Delivery

    Induction One day induction to Apprenticeship programme, meeting with a Skills Coach and Delivery Plan agreed.

    In College Weekly classroom and workshop based lessons during term time and monthly Skills Coach support sessions for theduration of the programme.

    Assessment On programme assessments every 6-8 weeks, including progress reviews every 8-10 weeks.
