This course is for those are brand new to support work in education or already have some experience, perhaps working as a parent helper, and are now looking to deepen their knowledge and move towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will look at the role of the support worker and the role they play in the wider school framework and the curriculum.

During the course you need to complete 80 hours in an education setting. You will need to find your own placement for minimum half a day per week and this can be in the primary, secondary or FE sectors. We also have learners that are in SEN settings or specialist units. We do not mind what year you are in as long as it is classroom based with a qualified teacher. Private nurseries, before school, after school clubs and midday supervisor roles are not suitable.
