In the case of SMEs, roles are likely to include Site Manager or Site Supervisor. The apprentice will complete the HNC in Construction and the Built Environment as part of this Higher Apprenticeship standard.

  • The typical duration for this apprenticeship is three years but this will depend upon the previous experience of the apprentice and the access they have to opportunities to gain the full range of competence.
  • Successful apprentices will gain a Level 4 HNC qualification in Construction and Built Environment (please see the relevant course page for more information) that meets the knowledge requirements of the apprenticeship standard.

    Qualification

    • A Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Construction and the Built Environment that meets the knowledge requirements of the standard and is approved by the industry's recognised progressional bodies
  • Entry Requirements

    Individual employers will set their own entry requirements for their apprentices. Typically, candidates will have achieved a grade C or above in at least 5 GCSEs including English and maths, and hold a minimum of 48 UCAS points, or equivalent. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3. British Sign Language qualifications are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.
